1975 Topps Vic Correll

The man Ernie Johnson referred to as "the Mayor of Statesboro Georgia." I suppose Ernie had to say something nice about Vic. There wasn't much else to say.
Vic played one game for the Red Sox in 1972, going 2-4 with an RBI. He should've quit then. Not playing again until 1974 with the Braves, then lasting 4 seasons, before being released by the Braves in 1978.
How bad do you have to be to be released by the '78 Braves??? They were horrible.
I guess 13 errors in only 97 games while batting .215 will do it. Although Cincinnati thought enough of him to pick him up for 3 more years. I guess with Bench, you just want a guy who's happy to be there and not whine about lack of playing time.

Sadly, just another in a long, long list of horrible Braves catchers.....
